Subject: you may not know
yes this is by far a good film but to compare it to the film "GODZILLA" is somewhat off base . The first version was released in Japan only in 1954 under the name "GOJIRA" . It was done as an anti nuke film and deamed to hard for the U.S. market. Because we so lovingly droped the "bomb" on japan the makers of the film cut and RE-EDITED the film so as not to offend us , hired RAYMOND BURR wrote his part and then edited his parts into the film which was then re-named "GODZILLA KING OF THE MONSTERS" It is this film which has become a classic and was released in the U.S. in 1956

Subject: Kaiju inspiration?
You can't help but wonder if this inspired kaiju films. It looks great, of course, and is better than most animation today.
Subject: Superman - Arctic Giant
Superman Arctic Giant is another excellent older color animation which is good quality and funny. A T-rex frozen is brought to a museum and thaws. Mayhem results. Very funny.
Subject: The "Ur Godzilla"?
This may be one of the original sources of inspiration for everybody's favorite Japanese monster, Godzilla! As you will note this cartoon predates Godzilla's appearance in Japanese film lore by a good 12 years, yet we see many Godzilla-like qualities in this one.
Food for thought?
Subject: The First Godzilla
In this yarn, a t-rex tramps through Metropolis, way before Godzilla was born. Superman saves the day.
Great print. BTW, I never saw Superman ever leap over a tall building, but he does in this one!
Subject: Excellent print quality
You already know the film is good - but this copy is really clean, too. No scratches, dust, splices.
Subject: Tyrannosaurus Goofy
Another great Max Fleischer cartoon featuring Superman. This time, a T-Rex has been unearthed in Siberia, encased in ice, and wouldn't ya know it? The darn thing thaws out, comes to life, and goes on a rampage.
Worth the download for several reasons: first the animation is excellent. Second, the T-rex is just so goofy, it's impossible not to laugh as you watch the thing with its big buck fang teeth snapping up Lois Lane for a snack. I have to wonder if the movie audiences this short was intended for actually found it scary.
Anyway, great animation and unintentional laughs mean entertainment.
